Brother Gary Cregan, OSF
Brother Gary attended parochial schools in Queens and graduated from Saint John’s University with a B.A. in Social Studies/ Secondary Education. He secured a teaching position at Saint Francis Preparatory in Fresh Meadows teaching for four years while also seeing first hand the fine Franciscan education given there.
He entered the Franciscan Brothers and was Professed in August of 1982. His first assignment was to Saint Anthony’s High School in Smithtown and shared in the excitement of those times of flux, uncertainty and expansion to South Huntington. During that time Brother was awarded an M.A. in European History from New York University in 1986 and continued to teach at Saint Anthony’s until 1994.
Brother Gary responded to a Community request to become Vice Principal of Cardinal Gibbons High School in 1994. Along with Brothers Michel, Hugh, Richard Contino and Geoffrey, they oversaw and directed an era of phenomenal growth eventually building a 20 million dollar facility for 1000 students in the Diocese of Raleigh, North Carolina.
Brother Gary holds an Advanced Certificate in School Administration from C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, awarded in 2005.He also received an honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters from Saint Francis College in April 2008.
Brother currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Saint Francis Preparatory and is beginning his eighth year as the principal of Saint Anthony’s. He is delighted to be, once again, part of the wonderful Franciscan tradition of education on Long Island.
Brother Robert Gabriel, O.S.F.
Brother Robert was born and raised in St. Vincent Ferrer Parish in Flatbush, Brooklyn and attended the parish school. He graduated from St. Francis Prep and entered the Franciscan Brothers in 1964, receiving the Habit of St. Francis in January 1965 and professing his vows in January 1966. He completed his BS is History in 1969 at St. Francis College and his MS in Education from Wagner College in 1976.
In 1968 Brother was assigned to teach at Our Lady of Angels School in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. In 1977 he was appointed Principal of Our Lady of Angels School where he served until coming to St. Anthony's High School in 1992 as a teacher of Freshman and Sophomore Theology courses. He became Chair of the Theology Department the following year.
In 1996 he was appointed, and continues to serve as, Dean of Faculty/Director of Studies. Brother continues to teach a Sophomore Theology Course and moderates the National Honor Society.
Brother Joshua Di Mauro, O.S.F.
Brother Joshua is the Assistant Principal - Director of Student Activities, Prefect of Discipline for Freshmen and is in his 22nd year as Chorus Director at Saint Anthony's High School. Brother Joshua completed undergraduate studies in Education at St. Francis College(Brooklyn, NY) while also pursuing muscial studies at Hunter College(NY) and received his Masters Degree in Music from the University of Notre Dame(Indiana).
Brother Joshua continued postgraduate musical training in choral conducting and Gregorian Chant at Westminster Choir College(NJ), Catholic University of America(DC), and the Abbaye Saint Pierre de Solesmes(France).
Brother Joshua conducts the high school choir of 420 members and the select Gregorian Schola of 60 members. In addition to the many European concert Tours which he has directed, Brother has also studied Italian Language and Culture at the Centro Linguistico Italiano Dante Alghieri(Florence) and the Scuola Leonardo da Vinci(Rome) in preparation for these musical ventures.
Many alumni will also remember Brother Joshua as a Math teacher for 25 years. In addition to his duties at the high school, Brother Joshua also serves as the Secretary General of the Franciscan Brothers. Brother serves as a member of the Board of Trustees at St. Anthony's, St. Francis Prep and Bishop Ford.

Mrs Lorraine Becker
Mrs. Becker graduated from St. John's University with a degree in Mathematics. She received her Masters Degree from Dowling College. She came to St. Anthony's in January 1985 and began her career here as a Math teacher.
In September 1997 she was appointed to her present position as Assistant Principal/Dean of Students. Mrs. Becker is Moderator of the Girls' Varisty Soccer and the Junior Varsity Girls' Lacrosse teams. She and her husband live in Oakdale. They have two grown sons, both graduates of St. Anthony's Hgh School.
Brother Philip Herte,O.S.F.
Brother Philip Herte joined the faculty of Saint Anthony's High School in September, 1984 as a Speech teacher in the English Department. Brother holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hunter College and a Master of Arts degree from New York University. Sixteen of the last twenty-one years have been spent directing and producing the plays and musicals of the Theatre Company.
Over the years, he has also moderated the boys and girls volleyball teams, boys wrestling teams and managed the Friar Bookstore. In July, 2004 Brother Philip was appointed Assistant Principal - Treasurer by the Board of Trustees.
